Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine

Dazaifu, Japan

Located in Fukuoka Prefecture, the Tenmangu Shrine is sacred to the "god of wisdom" and a popular destination for students interested in divine intervention with their studies. Good luck charms are sold in shops around the main hall and it is said rubbing the horns of the ox statue located nearby will ensure success.

Go. See. Explore!

Finding your way around a new city (or country!) can be challenging but so rewarding when you finally find that cat cafe you've been searching for. Here are a few tips for navigating with GPS.

Tips for Using GPS

  1. Set your GPS before you leave.
  2. Make sure you also set your return destination.
  3. If you're using your smartphone, mount it at eye-level so you aren't looking away from the road.
  4. Expect hiccups. Siri gets confused sometimes, just like us.
  5. Try not to get discouraged if you make a wrong turn or miss your exit. Detours are opportunities to discover new things!
