Demon's Nose Mountain Forest Park

Taku, Japan

Google Translate may also call it "Ogre No Nose Mountain Forest of Rest." Either way, it's a huge head perched high on a mountain that offers incredible views of the city below. There's a parking area at the base, along with a replica demon for those unable or unwilling to trek to the top. The path up is kind of creepy but you'll have lots of spiders, centipedes, and mosquitos to keep you company!

Go. See. Explore!

Finding your way around a new city (or country!) can be challenging but so rewarding when you finally find that cat cafe you've been searching for. Here are a few tips for navigating with GPS.

Tips for Using GPS

  1. Set your GPS before you leave.
  2. Make sure you also set your return destination.
  3. If you're using your smartphone, mount it at eye-level so you aren't looking away from the road.
  4. Expect hiccups. Siri gets confused sometimes, just like us.
  5. Try not to get discouraged if you make a wrong turn or miss your exit. Detours are opportunities to discover new things!
